Who was the drummer on Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets"? Where was George Harrison's "cloud nine" album recorded? What artists have recorded Paul Desmond's "Take Five"? (answers below)

webmusicdb will include detailed information on as much recorded music as possible (including old and out-of-print titles), updated and maintained by the public, and supplemented by a group of very cool Poly employees who will make sure that current music is always included with as much detail as possible.

This is the initial project of Polymorphic Data Corporation, (affectionately known as "Poly"). Poly's ingenious engineers have developed a new way of representing data (called a "polymorphic database") that we are using to create the ultimate music database.

The database will cover musicians, composers, arrangers, songwriters, engineers, and whatever other personnel worked on the recordings. Our goal is to collect data on everyone associated with every recording along with all the anecdotes, stories, rumors, and other sundry data we can get our greedy little hands on.

If you have any questions, comments, or offers of help and support, please let us know by writing to us on this other page over here.

The drummer on Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets" was Nigel Olson; George Harrison's album "cloud nine" was recorded at Friar Park Studios, Henley On Thames, England; I have no idea how many different artists have recorded Paul Desmond's "Take Five", but we should have some idea within a few months of webmusicdb going live!
