What is webmusicdb? Welcome to the world's first fan-built music information database! Until now, the only information about music has been from the record companies. Not webmusicdb! This site belongs to you, the fans. We're new, and we need your help. Enter your music collection into the database and include anything else that matters to you, stories, rumors, trivia, whatever! Tell your friends! The more people help, the faster webmusicdb will become the best music resource . . . ever! What's Next? The site is still in beta test, and we are adding features as quickly as we can. When you register you will have the opportunity to receive our newsletter so we can keep you informed of improvements as we make them. You can help in one of two ways: Enter your collection (CDs, Tapes, Records, Whatever) in the database. Tell your friends about the database! Remember: The more people we have entering recordings, the sooner we get a complete database for you to use! How Do I Enter a Recording? Very soon we will have a full tutorial (we've got all our special typing monkeys workin' on it full-time!). Until then, here's the basic steps: You must register to enter recordings. If you are registered and logged in, Click "Add New Recording" to enter an album. Type the recording's title and press the "Add" button. Using the "Select a Category" pull-down menu, add data for as many categories as you can. Individual songs are listed as Tracks, and all tracks are included in a Track Group. To add tracks to the recording, first add a track group, then add tracks to that group. A two-disc album would have two track groups. Some classical music albums have many track groups on the same disc. (See this help box for more about track groups.)
